Founded in 2002, Pelagian ( An ISO 9001 Certified Company) is an established consultancy specialising in the design and construction of submarine cable systems for the telecoms, renewables and power sectors.  Pelagian also provides high-calibre interim and contract personnel to submarine cable projects worldwide.

Our personnel have many years of experience gained within the offshore survey, cable installation and hydrocarbons industries and using that expertise, now provide technical and commercial consultancy services and project management to our customers.

Pelagian has from its formation, built up a solid track record in all aspects of marine cable operations from initial feasibility study, marine survey and permitting through to route engineering, cable installation and system commissioning, as well as wider support of renewable and cable projects through Geoscience.

Peter Fisk TD, BEng, Dip HS, MInstRE

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Peter established Pelagian Limited in 2002 as a submarine cable consultancy and provider of professional personnel. He has seen the company grow into a major player, supplying professional consultancy services and personnel to purchasers, installers, survey companies and others across the whole spectrum of the submarine cable industry, worldwide. More recently, Pelagian has diversified into the oil and gas and renewable energy markets under Peter’s direction.

Peter is a qualified civil engineer and hydrographic surveyor with initial experience gained during a large number of cable route surveys and installation projects around the globe between 1990 and 1994. He then served with the British Army as an officer in the Royal Engineers, gaining considerable military experience in several operational theatres. Since 1998, Peter has worked full-time in the submarine cable industry, managing many cable-related projects including; route engineering, route surveys, route clearance, post lay inspection and burial and rock dumping. One area of specialisation was marine permitting and Peter enjoyed considerable success as Senior Permits Manager for Tyco Telecommunications before starting Pelagian.

As the Managing Director of Pelagian, Peter is responsible for business strategy. He also acts as a Principal Consultant specializing in marine permitting and corporate business development.
