December 2010:

Despite the challenging current weather, Pelagian continues to see a strong end to the year with good utilisation across a number of current projects.

From supply of Clients Representatives in support of ongoing telecoms cable route surveys, telecoms cable landing site visits, and shore end installations from Africa to India for more than 6 new international systems, through recent supply of jointers and equipment for telecoms cable repair in the Middle East, as well as an ongoing major power cable installation project in UK, and provision of representatives and cable engine drivers supporting some 5 simultaneous UK wind farm construction projects - a busy autumn and early winter has seen a strong end to a challenging year.

Recent consultancy work has included permit market papers and studies for potential cable projects in the Caribbean and the Mediterranean, following desk study work in the early part of 2010, as well as permit acquisition for several cable route surveys.

Current consultancy work includes cable owner permit acquistion in support of a cable system being installed in early 2011, as well as continued long-term support to clients for route engineering of power export and array cabling for several UK windfarm projects, and long term project support to one of our key clients for new submarine cable installations.

We continue to work as members of both UKCPC and RenewableUK, currently actively engaged with working groups in the drive to derive updated cable planning guidelines in support of meeting the needs of the telecom, power and renewable energy stakeholders and seabed users.

We are looking forward to a strong and bright start to 2011 as a number of projects come into force and become live around the globe, and which we hope will in turn lead to a busy year for us as well as our clients. With a number of significant project commitments already in hand for 2011, we are confident of a busy year.
